You and Your Vote

Its time for the biggest showdown in Democracy....Elections !!!!!
It surely is festive time for the umpteen number of news channels , both national and regional, that have already got the whiff of the elections coming up ..
Apart from cricket and movies..elections are the biggest entertainer for the common man..one can see the same faces , which we saw five years back, take the centre stage with the regular promises to the common man ( and nowadays weird promises like colour TV's and cell phones )...
So, the question that arises now...what is different this time ????

The instinctive answer may be : nothing, its the same as always..

But no, this elections got to be different.. and it is we..the people, the major stakeholders in this democracy who should make a difference..

So , what can we do ? is the million dollar question...

We, the young Indians, the future of this nation should make an impact and strive for a better future for our country, our people..
NO..i am not talking about the YUVA movie style of contesting elections ( lets leave that only to movies)..
Firstly, please make sure you vote ( which mite not be possible because we have been too ignorant and irresponsible in not registering our vote), but then, please encourage others to vote..
As students we have lots of communitites in which we are a part of..use this media to spread awareness, an awareness which would change our future, one which would act as a catalyst for change...
Please take responsibility to change the future of this nation, A nation which has been torn by individuals and groups, selfish and greedy polticians who have maximised their wealth at the cost of our nation, Let us spread awareness and make sure that we have a better future for ourselves.......
Please Vote......

ASB : A part of life or Life?????

This may be the first time that I am being forced to do something and still liking it !!!!

I was thinking a lot about how to start a blog, which article to write and what would be the response of people ( if at all anybody has the time to read it) .

And then a few discussions in the last few days helped me make up my mind about my first blog…

Half the batch is already placed ( Congrats to them..I am genuinely happy) and then the other half ( which I am sure will also be placed in the near future)…

Going back in time …I still remember my first few days in Amrita…..

The joy of finally doing what I wanted to do…..

The fear of treading the unknown path…

The anguish of staying away from my parents and friends..( 1st time in my life)

The will to succeed and prove myself to the world….

And then started the journey..a journey which was one heck of a roller coaster ride..

It had the usual expected events….Exams, results the tense moments before the results..etc

And then there were the unexpected twists…assignments that had to be submitted overnight, presentations before the most dreaded faculty L , surprise tests that I had no clue about ..

And then to the other extreme of ASB..the events which were awesome to say the least..

Starting with the corporate workshop, icebreaking, festivals

Utsav 07 ..undoubtedly some of the best days in ASB,

Then the forum selections, pragati and soon the end of an year…

The real time corporate experience of Summer internship’s and then the Juniors..

All this only a small part of the life at ASB…..

The major part of life at Amrita was friends, friends and friends…..

From being unknowns to the best of friends and sharing the deepest secrets…Friends were always there to make worse moments better and the better ones even better J

I have no qualms in saying that friends were the best thing that happened to me in ASB…

They were there when I needed them the most…lending me a helping hand and they were also there when I didn’t want them to ( but needed them.. )

Birthdays, crushes, grades and grade cuts, gossips, outings ( Aloo Parothas ,dozen flop movies …)…festival celebrations…

Discussions , arguments….were we agreed to disagree on most but agreed on a few

All these moments certainly made my life more memorable…

And now writing this I am feeling tensed that all this is about to end….I really don’t want these moments to end…but then as the saying goes all good things must come to an end and so will life with friends at ASB….

I might have not learnt a lot academically ( with due respect to all my awesome faculties..)..but I have certainly learnt LIFE………………..

Ending it with DJ’s dialogue in Rang De Basanti..

“ college gate ki is taraf hum life ko nachate hain aur gate ka us taraf life hume nachati hain “ .

A special thanks to Cauvery who motivated me to start this blog….( I owe u a treat ) and all my friends who stood by me thru al the difficult times…….

Sorry for such a long one…Comments pls
