The wait is finally over !!
In less than 8 hours, the first ball of the 2015 Edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup will be bowled, marking the beginning of a tournament that is considered as the holy grail of Cricket !!
Spread over 44 days, the 49 matches will be played at some of the most picturesque venues in Australia and New Zealand. Australia is hosting the tournament after 23 years.
14 teams, divided into two groups will sweat it out in the group matches, with the top 4 teams from each group qualifying for the Quarter Finals.
India are the Defending Champions, the Men In Blue conquering the trophy at home in 2011 !!
West Indies, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India have all been past Champions and will look to win it yet again while teams like South Africa, New Zealand and England would be eager to forget past disappointments and lay their hands on the trophy !!
Looking forward to 2 months of intense cricketing action - Runs being scored, Wickets being taken, catches being held and hearts being won.
Its time to catch the excitement with fellow fans, cricket lovers, crickets experts and Cricket enthusiasts (not the one from CSK !! )
Careers will be made, milestones will be achieved, records will be broken and new heroes will emerge.
The World Cup might and will see the fall of the mighty and the rise of the underdogs.
So, as the 14 Nations fight it out, looking forward to see cricket win hearts and bridge gaps !!
