Where are the Vowels !!!!

English has been my favorite subject right from school days. I still vividly remember being taught when I was in UKG, that the English alphabet is divided into two sets, one set of letters called vowels and the other called consonants. I remember my teacher telling me that vowels are the base for many a words. From that day I always looked up to A, E, I, O, U and felt that these would be the building blocks to the literary world.

As time and generations evolved, so has the language. English was initially either American or British. But now there is Indian english, Hinglish and more recently Chinglish has started to come up as well. But the most intriguing form of english that is coming up is the SMS-ish and chat english. This english goes totally against the very basics of the language. Vowels are hardly in use, forget about they being the building blocks..

Consider the following..

whr r u gng...

lyf cn be vry brng re

c ya at d htl..

these lines definitely prove that vowels are no longer prominent in the new world english...

The very fact that all the vowels are only one pointers in Scrabble is in itself a testimony to the fact that they are the most repeated alphabets in word building..

Wonder how it feels to play scrabble now with the modern day english..

Hmmmm...

While the word life would have fetched u 7 points then..

Using modern english the word lyf would give u 9 points...and by using jus 3 letters instead of 4 :-)

:-) :-) Surely that sounds like a winning tip :-) :-)

PS : I am not trying to criticize or preach...Its just a random thought which was randomly put into random words...

tats it fr nw..err i meant that's it for now...:-)

Why Cant I.....

The last post was on the 3rd of july..surely there must be some reason for not updating my blog after 363 days i.e a whooping 8712 hours..8712 hours in which there were 52 sundays and many other holidays...and still no new posts..and now, as i sit and try to find out that elusive reason which has stopped me from posting a new blog..there have been a few arguments and counter arguments that have flashed my mind ...

I wondered if even i was affected by the Writers Block !!!!!
But hold on..if i call myself a writer after writing just 5 articles, then what would be the case of so many people who write regularly and write quality stuff unlike what i do?? ( it would be like Imran khan (Jaane tu ya Jaane na) calling himself the next Baadshah of bollywood, just because he has one hit). It would surely be an injustice to all those wonderful writers. So i decided it wasnt worth mentioning the writers block as a reason.

Then i wondered if i was so busy with work, that i could not spare an hour to write.
I realised that would be the most silliest reason i could ever give, for there is not a soul on earth (including me) who thinks that i am workholic. There is no way i would put work before anything or everything.

Or may be, there was nothin to blog about??
I wish i could say that. But there have been quite a few things happening around me, i could have written about my convocation, about the hyped and over hyped IPL 3, the various political gimmicks that always happen in our country, the numerous movies and their unwanted reviews, and ofcourse FIFA 2010, BUT, i didnt write.

May be i was busy with other activities...May be
If those other activities were Facebook and Gtalk may be yes. But then frns always complain that i am not available on gtalk nor do i keep updating my facebook status. So even this is ruled out.

And then, i realised....
I realised what kept me away from blogging all these days, y i could not put up a new blog after the 3rd of july....

I realised it was not a question of Why cant I...It was Why dont i..

and the answer is a simple word that has changed the lives of many people....

and then i realised, that

I WAS LAZY

Now that i have realised, i hope i can write more articles and keep my blog updated...

Ab ke liye..
Waka Waka..Its time for Africa..
